All of the luxury and tranquility of a “French Country House in Town”. Situated in the heart of the Bastide St. Louis, Carcassonne, the former presbytery of the Église St. Vincent de Carcassonne has been lovingly renovated with an eye to understated luxury.
The hosts are seasoned travellers and the property has been designed to counter their pet peeves whilst vacationing.

All of this is just minutes walk from the amazing local restaurants and amenities. The Canal du Midi and Carcassonne Cité are within easy walking distance and yet the back garden is full of birdsong with a private pool hidden from view.

The house is simple but elegantly styled with a coherent and relaxing theme, drawing from local fabric designs by Les Toiles du Soleil. The considerable wall space offered by the high ceilings is perfect to show original artwork by local artists all lovingly curated by the host – a professional upholsterer and designer.
The ground floor offers an entry into an enormous bright stairwell that leads to the upper floors. Double doors lead to a huge dining room with a bespoke dining table and comfortable seating for 12.
To the left is a fully fitted kitchen that has all appliances by the top-of-the-line Italian manufacturer SMEG. To the right is the Snug, where you can relax with a book and enjoy the morning light with a coffee.
Double doors in the dining room lead out to a private, secluded, south-facing garden and terrace, featuring- unique in the Bastide- a heated swimming pool.
On the top two floors, there are six generously sized bedrooms one with two single beds and five with king/queen-sized doubles, antique French dressers, wardrobes, and elegant lighting. The house has two full bathrooms, two shower rooms, and a separate WC.
The cellar has been completely refurbished into a huge, fun space, with a pool/billiards table, a bar, and SMEG fridge, three full-sized Chesterfield sofas, and giant FATBOY beanbags to lounge in and chat, or watch the latest films on an immersive big screen projector with surround sound, connected to a FireCube.
